Kathmandu- While New York University recently introduced a new course titled “The Last Great American Songwriter: Storytelling with Taylor Swift Through the Eras,” New York University’s Clive Davis Institute already introduced a Taylor Swift-inspired course last year, the University of Texas added a unit to analyse Swift’s lyrics alongside poetry by greats like John Keats and Sylvia Plath, and Europe is finally catching up.

British academic Elly McCausland, who will instruct the course, will use Swift’s writing as a jumping-off point to examine literature across the ages.

The course, which will be added to the master’s degree in language and literature, is titled “Literature (Taylor’s Version)” in allusion to Swift’s re-recordings of her albums.
