The inaugural poet idol is won by Neelam Gurung of Sikkim. In the AP1 Television studio, The Poet Idol, the first reality television program involving Nepali poets, debuted on Push 14 and concluded in style on Baisakh 8. A Sikkimese poet named Neelam Gurung was named the inaugural season’s victor.

Neelam Gurung visited her native Sikkim last week and was welcomed back by tens of thousands of admirers and well-wishers in Rangpo with garlands and flowers. The residents of Sikkim and the nearby hills are extremely thrilled about her triumph. It’s important to note that Neelam Gurung works in a government school and is a language teacher by trade.

Director of AP1 HD TV, Capt. Rameshwar Thapa, presented Neelam with a distinguished trophy, a monetary reward of one million Nepalese rupees, and a contract with Yatra Publishing House for five lakh rupees for book publication.
