Kathmandu- Parijita Bastola, a singer with Nepali origin, has advanced to the knockout round of The Voice in America. In the battle round, she also triumphed over two further opponents. Along with her family, Parijita resides in America. She is 17 years old and resides with her family in the United States. The Voice Battles on Tuesday, October 18, featured a contest between The Marilynds and Parijita Bastola. By the end of their rendition of the Bee Gees’ “How Deep Is Your Love,” it was evident that their coach, John Legend, was unsure of what to do.

All four of the singing competition’s coaches—Camila Cabello, John Legend, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani—turned their chairs when they heard Bastola’s strong and entrancing voice and commended her singing prowess. Bastola enthusiastically expressed her happiness and said that she was likely the first American of Nepali descent to ever appear on The Voice.
