Mohit Chauhan is an Indian singer, most known for his work as a playback singer for Bollywood, Tollywood and kollywood movies as well as the former front-man of the India pop band Silk Route. He is a two –time recipient of the Flimfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer and three times Zee Cine Award for Best Male playback Singer as well as several other awards.
He never received formal training in music, but sings and plays guitar, harmonica and the flute. He is a self-taught artist. His music is inherited from his grandfather, who was a classical singer. He started his career singing Indian pop songs with the band Silk Route. Mohit chauhan says before he made it big as a musician, he wanted to be an actor.
