The single is accompanied by the announcement of a sprawling, 30-date tour across North America, including stops at landmark venues like NYC’s Webster Hall and The Wiltern in LA. Where the preceding singles found The Kills exploring anxieties, both personal and collective, around a sense of place and global inhabitability, The Kills come in swinging on “Wasterpiece” with the signature, seductive bravado that has defined their storied career. Taunting, self-deprecating refrains like “you’re VIP in the hall of fame / I’m RIP on the walk of shame” propel towards a tangible sense of urgency that is felt as strongly in the propulsive arrangement as in the duo’s vocals.
