Nepali Music refers to the various musical genres heard in Nepal. With more than fifty ethnic groups, the music of the country is highly diverse. Genres like pop, rock, folk, classical music, and ratna music are widely found, but many less common genres are yet to be cataloged. Among them, classical folk music are listened by every people for its pure music.

On the basis of folk songs, Kutumba is an instrumental folk Nepalese band formed in the year 2004. Amazingly, This band only use Nepalese traditional musical instruments such as Bamboo Flute, Sarangi, Madal, Tunga, Dhol, Jhyamta, Arbajoo, and many on. We can feel peace, love, unity, friendship, etc in their music.

Here’s a beautiful performance of “Ue O Muite” sang by audience at The Dawn Center, Osaka on their tour to Japan which was held in 26th November, 2017. We can see Kutumba playing with Makoto Takenaka as Pianist & Rika Shimizu as Saxophonist. Check out the video below:
