“This current one’s for you, Boston,” said Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler as he and the band’s guitarist, Joe Perry, propelled into one of their greatest hits.
The duo performed “Dream On” in tribute to the victims of Boston Marathon bombing occurred in 2013 and were joined by the Southern California Children’s Chorus.
“It’s relatively similar to it was composed for this unfortunate event,” Tyler said in an ESPN meet.
“The lyrics, it’s one of those uncommon songs that you can apply to various things,” Perry said. “You can translate it how you need, which is extremely the enchantment of music. You can take it, and you can apply it to something extremely individual and little or something, a major event, an event like what occurred in Boston.”
The video aired throughout the end of the week amid the ESPN extraordinary, “Dream On: Stories from Boston’s Strongest” and again on Tuesday night to check the first anniversary of the attack, which left three individuals dead and more than 260 harmed.
