Eric Clapton has been affirmed as one of main events for one year from now’s Barclaycard presents British Summer Time at London’s Hyde Park.
He’ll make that big appearance on July 8, where he’ll be joined by special guests like Santana, Steve Winwood and Gary Clarke Jr – with more artists to be reported at the appropriate time.
Clapton first played at Hyde Park before 120,000 individuals with Blind Faith in 1969 nearby bandmates: Winwood, Ginger Baker and Rick Grech. Slowhand returned in 1996 and again in 2008.
Clapton says: “I have happy memories of performing in Hyde Park previously and I’m truly anticipating playing there again – the whole atmosphere is very special.”
Last month, it was declared that Roger Waters would convey his’ Us + Them’ tour to Hyde Park on July 6.
Head of events, filming and commercial improvement at the Royal Parks, Alun Mainwaring says: “Since 2013, BST Hyde Park has turned into the homecoming for the world’s greatest artists.
“To start with, it was the Rolling Stones and now, in 2018 Roger Waters and Eric Clapton will come back to the park, almost 50 years after their well known 1969/70 performances. We can hardly wait to welcome them back.”
